The UN has released the Co-Chairs’ Summary from its first Global Dialogue on AI Governance, held in Geneva in July 2026. The Dialogue brought governments and other stakeholders together to address issues including AI safety, human rights, accountability, transparency, and equitable access to the benefits of artificial intelligence. As AI increasingly shapes health care, research, employment, and everyday life, its governance is also a bioethics issue. The Dialogue creates space for countries and communities with less technological power to have a voice in these discussions, but whether that representation translates into real influence will depend on what comes out of the follow-up session in New York in 2027.
