On October 20, Nigeria confirmed its first Ebola case, a woman in Abuja who had travelled through Uganda, and Kenya confirmed its ninth case, all linked to a single cluster. The outbreak began in the Democratic of Republic Congo in May and has now infected more than 9,500 people and killed over 4,600. There is no approved vaccine or treatment for this strain.
